Madrid, May 13, 2025.- On the occasion of the Day of the Hospitalized Child, the Cinema of the Miguel Servet Maternal and Children's Hospital in Zaragoza will be filled with music and fantasy with the Workshop "Music for All" . It is an activity, organized by the Sub-Directorate of IR, Innovation and Humanization of the hospital, focused on the Music as a tool for encounter, expression and care .

The Workshop starts at 10:45 a.m., at the cinema of the Hospital, where Carla Navarro , Music Therapist of the Foundation porque Live along with Loreto Caso and Sara Cobos , music therapists from the Latir Association, invite all those present to become percussionists, singers and artists for a day.

This participatory music therapy session fills the hospital space with joy and emotional connection through a theme that children are passionate about: the Pirates. Buccaneer rhythms, boomwhackers like sabers and improvisation by flag will make this meeting an unforgettable moment.

A day to celebrate life in the hospital

During the session, children admitted to the hospital and their families who come to the Cinema Room actively participate in a interactive musical experience, using adapted instruments and exploring sounds that encourage emotional expression and affective connection .

"Music transforms the hospital space, humanizes it and allows children and their families to feel like protagonists of their own sound history."
— Carla Navarro, music therapist at the Foundation porque Live

Music therapy: a pillar in paediatric palliative care

Music therapy is a therapeutic discipline that uses music to improve the lives of patients. In the context of pediatric palliative care, it offers significant benefits:

  • Pain and anxiety relief : Music helps reduce the perception of pain and decrease stress levels in children.
  • Improved communication :It facilitates the expression of emotions and thoughts that are difficult to verbalize, strengthening the bond between the child and his family.
  • Humanization of the hospital environment : Transforms clinical spaces into warmer and more welcoming environments, promoting emotional well-being.

The Foundation porque Live  integrates music therapy into its comprehensive care model , recognizing its value in accompanying children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.

"Our commitment is to provide care that not only alleviates physical suffering, but also cares for the souls of children and their families. Music therapy is a powerful tool on this path.
— José Carlos López Seisdedos, director of the Foundation porque Live
