The importance of paediatric palliative care training

Pediatric palliative care is defined as "total active care of the child's body, mind, and spirit, including family support." Unlike adults, PPCs begin with diagnosis, prioritize a multidisciplinary approach, and adapt to the child's development and family context.

The incorporation of this training in paediatric palliative care into the Intermediate Degree of Auxiliary Nursing Care Technicians – an official programme of one year plus internships in health centres – is a decisive step towards preparing more humane, sensitive and trained professionals to accompany in complex situations.

Experience that transforms future professionals

The workshops, given by the Foundation because Live , include content on what PPCs are, how they are developed in Spain and in the world, and the keys that differentiate them from the adult model. The work of the Foundation, its programmes and its impact in the field of paediatric palliative care is also addressed.

The Foundation because Live assumes, as an essential part of its mission, the Informative and training work . Its commitment is to raise awareness in society and train future professionals in the health field so that they understand the importance of caring with humanity, respect and excellence.

Training that changes the outlook

CPP training doesn't just provide technical knowledge, it changes the outlook of those preparing for care. Until now, students came to the workshops with suspicion, thinking that they would have a hard time. However, at the end of the workshop, her testimony changes radically, which makes it clear that raising awareness among students has a double impact: it improves their clinical training and awakens a deep motivation to accompany with humanity.
