Dr. José Carlos López Seisdedos
New Director of the Porque Viven Foundation

On the second of October, I began my career as Director of the Porque Viven Foundation, thanks to the support that the Solidarity Talent Programme of the Botín Foundation has provided us, starting a turning point in my life, after twenty-five years dedicated to the world of development cooperation, almost mostly in Mozambique.
I am a doctor by training, but my professional life has not been clinical, although it has been closely linked to the health sector, also education, occupying for many years positions of management and coordination of different NGOs and participating in a significant number of projects to support state policies to improve the quality of life of their populations. which now allow me to face a wonderful challenge: to improve the care of children who need palliative care by supporting health services from the Third Sector.
In April I joined the Foundation's office as a volunteer, doing my bit to prepare new projects and give proposals to manage those that were already working. I have found a team of professionals totally dedicated to the mission of Porque Viven, who due to their warmth has made me feel like family from the beginning and, due to their professionalism, believe with absolute certainty that we are on the right path so that all children with incurable clinical situations or with the possibility of death receive the best adapted care from the family. Professionals and society
As if that were not enough, Porque Viven has provided me with a professional occupation, by placing its trust in me, which allows me to continue with my personal vocation of service, growing professionally and returning to my country to be by the side of my children, for which I can only show my gratitude in every way, to the Foundation in general and to each of its professionals and members of its board of trustees in particular.
