October 8 is World Palliative Care Day and we also celebrate National Paediatrics Day, promoted by the Spanish Association of Paediatrics (AEP). For the Porque Viven Foundation, it is therefore an important day, since the commemoration of the two reasons that justify our existence, palliative care and pediatrics, coincide with it.
They are two disciplines of medicine that at first you may think do not have much to do with each other, but Paediatric Palliative Care exists and it is so because children die in hospitals. Specifically, 3500 children die in Spain every year.
The work of the Porque Viven Foundation does not consist of helping these children die. Our mission is to put all possible means so that they live as well as possible until the end of their lives.
