A day for remembrance and emotion

The event, held at the G. Nicoli International School of Madrid, brought together families, professionals and volunteers in a space of respect, love and shared memory. During the day, families were able to remember their children, share experiences and find comfort in the company of those who have lived through similar processes.

The meeting was marked by an atmosphere of deep connection. The families participated in a symbolic act , forming a large heart with candles in memory of their sons and daughters. A Video with images and memories shared by the families themselves , uniting emotion and gratitude in a collective gesture that gave meaning to the name of the event: Remind me .

One of the most significant moments was the presentation of the song composed especially for the occasion by Nieves Frechilla, music therapist of the Foundation  because Live , which moved all the attendees. His music served as a bridge between absence and love, reminding us that the bond with a child is never broken.

💬 "Music has the ability to say what spoken words, many times, cannot. This song is born from love, memory and respect. Of course, also of the need to accompany families from sound and silence."

Accompanying is also caring

During the meeting, the team of psychologists and professionals from the Foundation accompanied and emotionally supported the families, recalling the importance of continue to accompany families even after the loss.

The meeting, promoted by the Foundation's psychosocial team because Live , as part of the la Caixa Foundation's Care Programme for People with Advanced Illnesses, offered a warm and safe environment in which families could express their emotions, share experiences and remember the bonds with their deceased sons and daughters.

💬 "These meetings are a fundamental part of the accompaniment. They allow families to share their experience with others who have been through the same thing, thereby building a network of mutual understanding. In these situations, feeling understood and supported by others who have also experienced the loss helps to give meaning to the process and to integrate the absence into one's own life"

—Aurora Martínez Monroy, psychologist at the Foundation because Live (EAPS la Caixa Foundation )
