Several families with children in pediatric palliative care have lived an unforgettable experience in Atlantis Aquarium Madrid, thanks to the Foundation. porqueViven

Madrid, 09 May 2025.- The Foundation because Live organizes a playful day at the Atlantis Aquarium of Madrid for families with children in palliative care. The activity, framed within the "Every Moment Counts" Program, is committed to leisure and socialization as a tool for family care.

Fun in an environment of wonder and play.

During the morning, children and their families can explore the Atlantis Aquarium, an immersive space in the heart of Madrid that offers a tour of different marine ecosystems with species such as sharks, rays, tropical fish and turtles. A playful, educational and deeply emotional experience.

In the words of Jara Gonzalez Mañanas, social worker and head of the program, "The program is very successful. Every Moment Counts at the Foundation because Live :

"Families need spaces where they can be just that: families. No diagnoses in between, no urgencies. Just being, laughing, looking into their children's eyes and enjoying themselves together. These kinds of activities are invaluable."

Leisure that cares: a pillar of pediatric palliative care

The visit is part of the program Every Moment Counts , a line of psychosocial intervention of the Foundation because Live which promotes leisure and socialization activities for children with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses and their families.

This program recognizes that comprehensive pediatric palliative care support includes not only physical and medical relief, but also emotional care. Playful outings help to:

• To alleviate the social isolation common in these families.
• Strengthen emotional bonds through quality moments.
• Promote the normalization of childhood, even in contexts of illness.

María Rodríguez Nuñez, occupational therapist at the Foundation, stresses:

"Leisure and socialization are not a luxury, they are a necessity. These spaces allow children to express themselves through play, interact naturally and feel part of a community."
