Madrid, August 29, 2024.- The AMENCER-ASPACE VIGO Comprehensive Care Center organizes the Training Workshop, "Grief Care, Bioethics and Spirituality in Pediatrics" to be held in Vigo on September 2 and 3.
This Workshop, which will be taught by the professionals of the Psychosocial Care Team (EAPS) of the PORQUEVIVEN Foundation, seeks to strengthen skills in topics such as grief, bioethics and spirituality, essential to offer comprehensive care to children and adolescents in situations of vulnerability.
Attention to grief is a critical aspect in the educational environment, especially when it comes to children with cerebral palsy and neuromotor pathologies. such as those served at AMENCER-ASPACE VIGO . This training aims to provide tools that allow the Center's professionals to:
- Act effectively in the event of the death of a child, adolescent or member of the educational community.
- Properly manage the emotions related to the loss, both individually and as a group.
- To offer general guidelines and orientations to facilitate decision-making in situations of grief, thus increasing the perception of control and security.

The teaching team is made up of professionals from the Psychosocial Care team of Fundación PORQUEVIVEN, framed within the "la Caixa" Foundation's Comprehensive Care Programme for People with Advanced Illnesses .

The Workshop will address strategies for managing grief in the school environment, bioethical principles for decision-making in pediatrics, and the integration of spirituality in the care of minors. This joint initiative reinforces the commitment of both organizations to the continuous training of their professionals, ensuring that they are prepared to overcome the emotional, ethical and spiritual challenges they face on a daily basis.
