Adhesion of the Porque Viven Foundation to the signing of the Commitment to improve care for people at the end of life

The Porque Viven Foundation has joined the signing of a document that calls for the Commitment to improve care for people at the end of life.
The document promoted by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and the Spanish Society of Palliative Care (SECPAL) is as follows:

Commitment to improving end-of-life care
Receiving end-of-life care is an inalienable right of the individual.
Although Spain is among the countries with the greatest development of care resources
palliatives, we must continue to improve the care that our National System of
Health offers to people who are facing this situation. It is necessary to achieve
that reach 100% of the population that needs them, both adults and children and
adolescents, without any type of discrimination.
80% of people would prefer to receive this care in their own home, so
that we must provide the necessary resources to ensure that this is the case,
whenever possible due to the conditions of the person and the family.
Both the patient and their family are the center of this care and must have the
assurance that their needs will be met, both physical and pain control
and symptoms), such as emotional, social, or spiritual ones.
End-of-life care is a process of comprehensive, individualized and continuous care.

The signatory entities sign this declaration on the occasion of World Workers' Day.
